Sophia, a single mother, has been enrolled in the rapid rehousing program at St. Joseph’s Villa since October 2023. After facing several hurdles, she recently found an affordable place to live with the help of her case manager. She has been working hard to maintain her employment while also trying to increase her income in order to remain housed. However, Sophia’s home is unfurnished, and she and her one-year-old daughter are sleeping on the floor. She would be grateful for assistance with bedding and other essential furnishings to help make her new apartment a home for her family.

Ronald has found employment and would like assistance with his phone bill because he is currently experiencing car issues and must use his income to pay for car repairs. Ronald states that if he is able to receive assistance, he will be able tor remain employed. Ronald also states that he will be able to pay his phone bill moving forward. Ronald is continuing to meet with the Caritas case manager to find housing.

Kelly was not allowed to do many things while in the abusive marriage one of them being not allowed to work. Kelly has been diligently seeking work but has not be able to secure anything yet. Because she left, the abusive partner refuses to pay help with her car bills. This support would provide Kelly with some relief as she continues seeking work and rebuilding her life.

Her journey has been marked by hardship, from losing her job due to a lengthy hospitalization before her baby's premature birth, to receiving a diagnosis of lupus and falling behind on bills. Now, as she navigates the demands of caring for her medically fragile newborn while supporting her siblings—one in college and the other a high school senior—Ms. Ra’Nesha finds herself in urgent need of assistance with her Dominion bill. Every dollar makes a difference in her journey to provide a stable and loving environment for her family. Dani is a survivor of domestic violence. After transitioning into her own apartment, Dani lost her car and job. Dani has been diligently seeking employment but has not been able to secure a position yet. Due to the loss of income, Dani has been unable to keep up with her phone bill. In order to continue making calls and applying to jobs, Dani needs to ensure she has a phone. This financial relief would help Dani pay her phone bill and ultimately support her as she continues to take steps forward.

Davina is a single mother of two who recently obtained housing after experiencing homelessness. She is actively seeking employment to maintain her independence, and hopes to work from home in order to provide care for her children. Right now she is sharing a computer with her mother, who does not reside with her. Davina would be very grateful for help with purchasing her own laptop so that she can more easily apply for jobs and achieve her new career goals.

Their world has taken an unforeseen turn as they navigate their daily routines. Renee has been in a state of unemployment for over a month now, finding herself enveloped in a sense of uncertainty. The support she anticipated, like unemployment benefits, still eludes her as she now deals with the potential threat of having hip surgery, leaving her in a financial void. It's as if the taps of support have run dry; there's no available cash, no familial safety net to fall back on. The child support, a crucial financial lifeline, remains unpaid. The occupation that once sustained her family, relying on a 100% commission model, was significantly affected during the tumultuous times of COVID-19.

Meet Delphine, a resilient single mother who pours her heart into providing for her two children. Despite working tirelessly at two jobs, she faces immense challenges. Delphine's 16-year-old daughter and 27-year-old autistic son share a cramped motel room, lacking even the basic convenience of a microwave. Each week, a significant portion of their income goes towards the motel's hefty $300 fee. Heartbreakingly, Delphine's efforts to find a suitable home for her family are thwarted by the cruel reality of being told she earns too much for a two-bedroom but too little for a three-bedroom. To make matters worse, they rely on eating out every day, adding to their financial strain. Imagine the relief and gratitude Delphine would feel with assistance to cover gas expenses and storage fees, providing a glimmer of hope and stability in their challenging circumstances.
