This is a barrier to her when submitting job applications as she can't reliably receive phone calls. Your assistance will allow her to get her service turned back on and work towards her goals of employment and stable housing.

Lorenzo has been in shelter for the past month after falling behind in his rent. He has recently been connected with an employment program at CARITAS, and needs a bike to support him in getting to and from his class. A bike will also assist him in obtaining and maintaining employment in the future.

Dana has been staying at CARITAS Emergency Shelter for the past three months while working on saving and locating housing. She's made a lot of progress while in this program and she has finally been approved and is preparing to move out of shelter and into a place of her own. We would like to provide her with an exit package containing some of the things she'll need for her new place. The exit package will include: a laundry basket, an air mattress, sheets, a blanket, a pillow, a towel and wash cloth, and a hygiene kit (containing feminine products, toothbrush, toothpaste etc.). Your support will help her refocus her savings on her move in costs and expenses that come with this transition.

David has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and has misplaced a significant amount of his clothing. David has been connected with local clothing closets, but has struggled to find clothing that fits him well. David will be moving in with family in October and would benefit from moving in with a wardrobe.

Doris is a survivor of intimate partner violence who recently secured her own apartment to escape the abuse. She currently works two jobs so that she can regain her financial stability and independence but an outstanding property tax bill for her car is weighing her down. Doris needs assistance with this overdue bill so she can get to work without hassle and focus on rebuilding.

Marisol is a survivor of domestic violence and a single mother to five kids. Marisol was unexpectedly let go from her job due to staff turnover. As a result, she lost her only source of income and fell behind on her bills. Marisol has diligently been looking for a job but has not had any luck. This financial support would lift a huge weight off her shoulders and allow her to pay the light bill.

Harolette came to CARITAS Women's Emergency Shelter at the end of July. Since coming to our shelter, Harolette has identified and qualified for housing. Unfortunately, she has an outstanding utility bill that is serving as a barrier for her getting utilities in her name when she moves. She has been saving for her move in costs and is struggling to get this bill paid in full. She will be putting a portion of her own income towards this bill, but your assistance would allow her to fully pay it off and be able to move into her new apartment.

Adam has been experiencing homelessness on and off for the past several years. He states that due to his homelessness he has struggled to be able to maintain employment. Now that he is in shelter and has a safe place to sleep and bathe, he is hopeful that he will be able to maintain stable employment and ultimately be able to move into his own place. In order to support him in finding employment, Adam is in need of black clothing (pants, shirts and shoes). He has been connected to a works closet but was unable to find anything in his size.

Mario has been in shelter for a few weeks after being evicted from a family members house. While in shelter, he has been connected with a temp agency in order to be able to increase his income. He has been connected to a professional work closet, but has not been able to find clothing in his size. In supporting his with appropriate work attire, he will be able to increase his financial stability.

Micah has been working hard at his job and accepting all available overtime from his manager in order to save enough money to buy his own car. He found a car within his budget, but is short of funds for auto insurance. Micah’s friend, who had been providing him transportation to and from work, will no longer be able to do so after this week due to other obligations. Micah would be grateful for assistance with his auto insurance bill, so that he can complete his car purchase, and maintain stable employment and housing.

Since being released from incarceration, Kiara has been working hard in the rapid rehousing program at St. Joseph’s Villa to obtain stability for her and her family. She found housing and employment, and has focused nonstop on getting her family back on track. However, she was recently hospitalized for mental health, and was not able to work enough hours to afford back-to-school supplies for her son. Kiara could benefit from new clothing as well. She would be very appreciative for assistance with school supplies and clothing for her and her son.

John was recently approved for a housing voucher and has been able to connect with an apartment complex that will work with him with zero income. However, currently Frank does not have the funds to pay the out of pocket costs for a necessary breathing treatment. Frank has Medicaid, but it only covers a portion of the cost for the treatment.

Kyra is a young adult from the church hill community. She often participates in Peter Paul programming and is working hard to build a life for herself. She recently moved into a new place and has incurred several expenses as she settles in. Because of this it has been difficult for her to pay the renewal fees associated with her car insurance. She needs assistance to cover it so that she remains compliant as she adjusts to the bills of her new home.
