Elena is a single working mother, domestic violence survivor, and ardent problem solver. Her husband fled following multiple domestic violence charges, leaving Elena and her 7-year-old daughter to fend for themselves. Elena’s resourcefulness and self-advocacy enabled her to secure safe housing. However, she had to quit one of her jobs when her daughter started the 2nd grade, and, as a result, she fell behind in her September rent. This setback did not deter her, and she was able to find a housemate to help lower her housing costs starting in October. This support will help her cover September rent and allow Elena and her daughter to continue living in a safe and secure home.

Ms. Booze and her family recently relocated to Richmond from DC in August with limited time to learn the footprint of a new city and prepare for the approaching new school year in new schools. An active, loving mother of three daughters could use support with their transition to Richmond. Ms. Booze received a large bill for her utilities due to acquiring a security deposit. Currently she's worried about missing important evening time with her girls after taking extra shifts to cover the cost associated with relocating. Your support will go towards a mom having more time in the evening to be engaged with her daughters.

Despite some setbacks, she has persevered with support from her DSS and Housing Stabilization caseworkers. Earlier this month, she successfully signed an apartment lease and is now settling in with just an air mattress and a few basic items. She is starting over after losing everything in a fire last year, which ultimately led to her homelessness. Aaliyah would be grateful for support in furnishing her new home, allowing her to rebuild her life and focus on her mental health and well-being.

Jeanette is seeking assistance paying her storage unit bill in the amount $200.00, which will be up for auction on September 8th, 2024. Jeanette has been approved for rapid rehousing and is currently staying in Caritas Shelter waiting to find an apartment. She states that with the help if the Giving Wall, she will be able to use her belongings in her storage unit to furnish her new apartment.

Annie is an incredibly hardworking single mom of 1 who hasn't been getting any child support for about 6 months now. Bills are piling up fast. Because she isn't a native of VA with a lot of family here, she hasn't yet found trustworthy support with childcare so it’s been a little hard to Dash consistently.
