Booker received assistance with her utility bill.

Partner: Henrico County Public Schools Office of Family & Community Engagement

Advisor: Virginia Hansom

Amidst the rhythm of daily life, Booker finds themselves a single parent, navigating the world alongside my nine-year-old daughter, a bright presence who attends Trevvett Elementary. Their world has taken an unforeseen turn as they navigate their daily routines. They've been in a state of unemployment for over a month now, finding themselves enveloped in a sense of uncertainty. The support they anticipated, like unemployment benefits, still eludes them despite being approved, leaving them in a financial void. It's as if the taps of support have run dry; there's no available cash, no familial safety net to fall back on. The child support, a crucial financial lifeline, remains unpaid. The occupation that once sustained them, relying on a 100% commission model, was significantly affected during the tumultuous times of COVID.
