Partner: Henrico County Public Schools Office of Family & Community Engagement

Advisor: Alexis Miller

After previously qualifying for meal assistance, two HCPS siblings found themselves without coverage this year, leading to a mounting lunch balance that their family simply cannot bridge. Beyond the daily need for a meal, this debt creates a silent barrier to their future: unpaid fees can often prevent students from receiving the transcripts they need to apply for college or careers. Your support clears this financial hurdle, ensuring that these siblings stay nourished today and that nothing stands in the way of their success on graduation day.

Heather received assistance with a vet bill.

Partner: Forward Foundation

Advisor: Kathryn Rhoden

After losing a partner, Heather has found solace in the company of a pet. Last week, her cat escaped and ran into trouble with a neighborhood animal. The cat needed immediate attention, so Heather drove to the emergency vet in order to save the animal's life. After a hospital visit and surgery, Heather was able to bring her comfort companion home. Continual care is needed during the healing process for her beloved furry friend, but as any animal lover knows, veterinary care comes with a hefty price tag. Heather has picked up a part time job to try and manage this added expense, but as a single parent juggling rent, childcare, and utilities alone, it has become a hardship. Pets become deeply woven into our family fabric and the loss of one carries its own grief. Supporting Heather in this way would be a true gift of kindness and an opportunity for some relief.
