Sam is an artist and works with community organizations to provide access to art programs for children in Richmond. He has recently moved and is having trouble paying the deposit for his electricity bill since his working hours have been significantly cut due to less opportunities for community gatherings. This has dramatically impacted his ability to offer art programs. Sam is a very essential asset to the community and treasured member of the Peter Paul family.

Help with Books. Iyanna was born and raised in the East End of Richmond and recently graduated from North Carolina Wesleyan University with a bachelors in sociology. She is very passionate about returning to the East End community to provide quality mental health services to families. She was recently accepted to Liberty University for a Masters in Clinical Mental Health. This degree is going to open doors for her to achieve her ultimate goal of being a mental health counselor at a school or community center in the neighborhood. While Iyanna is working now, she's going to have to go down to part time to make time for her classes. This loss in income is causing her to try to cut costs as much as possible. This giving wall donation will allow her to purchase her books.

Levi’s mother passed away in the fall of 2019 after a long battle with cancer. His father was diagnosed with COVID in February, but as Levi’s primary caregiver he was unable to isolate and had to power through his illness to provide the most basic care for Levi. Levi became severely sick and was admitted into the ICU. After over two months in the hospital, Levi is beginning to breathe on his own but will likely need additional rehab. His father has been by his side every day since the hospital has allowed visitors. He is preparing the house for Levi’s return and is need of a new mattress for his son.

Help with Groceries. Chris is a single mom of two children, one with special needs. She also works full time but is not bringing home enough money to make ends me eat. Chris” children have been home during the pandemic and it has been a challenge to keep food in the house. She is asking for support for groceries for her and her children at this time.

Help with Electric Bill. Erendira is experiencing financial hardship. Ms. Lopez's partner is the primary provider for their family of six. He recently lost his job and is currently working on obtaining new employment. Erendira is requesting help to pay a portion of her electric bill to help them stay another month afloat.

Help with Tires. Chris has been out of work for the last three months. He was hired recently as a Forklift Operator for a warehouse. However, Chris fell behind in some of his bills. He needs assistance with a partial payment for his tires to commute to work every day. This type of assistance will be a tremendous help to Chris.

Utility Bill. Cesia and her family are experiencing financial hardship. Due to Covid-19 and lack of child care Cesia lost her job in 2020. In January 2021 Cesia’s husband, Lester Ambrosio, lost his job. They currently cannot afford to cover the expense for their electricity bill. This would be a great help to Cesia and her family.

Amber is a young single mother of a brand new baby boy, She has been out of work for sometime due to Covid causing hazard conditions within her workplace that would have been harmful to her pregnancy. She is recently back to work part time and is transitioning into more affordable housing that will reflect her current financial situation. She is leaning on community support to help her get through this uncertain time while she works to secure full time employment and return to some level of normalcy. Her most pressing need at the moment is to pay her car insurance before it lapses so that she continue to independently make it back and forth to work.

Help with Groceries. Angel Rivera is requesting assistance with food. He was laid off from his job in January and fell behind on his bills. With the assistance of OCWB he was recently hired and works at the Children’s Hospital construction site and is now able to catch up on overdue accounts. When his career advisor asked if he needed anything, he said “I am so thankful to be back at work but I can use help getting food." Because of his work hours, Angel is unable to visit any of the local food pantries during their hours of operation.

Help with Rent. Katy is a single mom of two children who is on medical leave from work. Over the last few months, she has been sick in bed. Now, things are transitioning to longterm care which will cause her to lose 50% of her income. Katy is seeking help because she doesn't know how long it will take to get her disability approved. She is exactly $250 short on rent after closing benefits from work. This type of assistance will be a great help while she is trying to figure out how she will take care of her family and cope with her medical condition.

Renita is a single mother of two teenage boys. Her family is excited to be moving into their new apartment this week after experiencing several housing challenges over the past year. She has applied to our program to receive gently used furniture from CARITAS and is having challenges paying the fees associated with the application and delivery services. Assistance with this will provide her family home furnishings and help her on the journey of making this apartment home for her boys sooner rather than later as they navigate all the other ins and outs of progressing toward housing stability,

Paula is a senior citizen in our community and long time church hill resident who lives alone and volunteers with neighboring organizations as a way to fill her time and build community, She is hardly ever seen without a smile and almost always has a witty anecdote to share. Her modest lifestyle is usually pretty well supported by her fixed disability income but she has recently incurred some unexpected household repairs that have thrown her off track. Any assistance toward her upcoming expenses and household utilities will make all the difference for her wellbeing in the coming months.

She had no one to care for them; Sharrell is in the process of seeking employment. Help with Electricity Bill. Mr. Ciceron needs financial assistance to help pay his electric bill. He has been out of work for several months and is now homeless. He is working with the Office of Community Wealth Building to secure housing and employment. This bill will need to be paid for him to move into new housing. Should the Giving Wall assist him, a friend has agreed to pay half of the bill, or the difference in whatever cost is not covered.

Help with Laptop. Maya has currently enrolled Asher in the CNA Program Maya way praying her computer will survive the training class. Still, unfortunately, it’s not allowing her to use the needed functions required for the class. Maya needs a new laptop to complete her coursework.
