He does not have a computer and plans to attend school during the day. Public libraries are open with restrictions, but by the time Frank finishes school, they are closed. Angie is the Founder and Creator of Moving Arth, a day care program that helps prevent youth from becoming dependent or co-dependent on government funds by giving them the knowledge and skills to obtain a sustainable future starting at ages 2yrs.- 11yrs. She has developed a curriculum based on what she has heard from families in the community and knowledge gained from the Pre Teaching Program T J. Sargeant Reynolds. After living through an abusive situation in a rooming house and moving to a women’s shelter, she found stable housing in her own name through Flagler Housing & Homeless Services at St. Joseph’s Villa. While Shanice and her baby boy now have a safe place to call home, she is facing financial challenges after being laid off from her job. Shanice needs assistance with clothing, baby supplies, cleaning supplies, and other household essentials as she seeks employment.

After two years of staying in shelters and stabilization programs, Aisha recently found an affordable apartment and support services through Flagler Housing & Homeless Services at St. Joseph’s Villa. She is planning to maintain her housing independently in less than a year, and is working toward obtaining a new job with a higher income. In the meantime, Aisha needs help with start-up essentials for her new home, including bedding, rugs, shower curtains, towels, cleaning supplies and kitchenware.

This assistance will relieve significant stress, and allow her to continue being a bright light on the East End.

She’s doing her best to save for an air conditioner to help with her son’s asthma, which worsens with the summer heat. Assistance with groceries and the air conditioning unit would greatly help Jada through this period of instability.

Help with Rent. Marell is a senior who is enrolled in one of our career stations. He needs is in need of rent assistance. Marell lives in federally subsidized housing. He missed his appointment for recertification because he was sick in the hospital. Now, he is being charged the market rate for rent. If Marell is not able to reconcile his balance, he will be facing eviction. He urgently needs help until he is able to get another appointment for recertification.

Jannah escaped a horrifically abusive marriage. She is strong and determined to make it on her own while caring for her four young children, aged 14 to 4 1/2. With gifts from her faith community, she received most of what is needed to furnish a house, but needs a few more essentials to start life over on her own. The IRC is helping Jannah look for work and childcare. Both have been a challenge due to COVID, but Jannah's persistence and motivation will see her through.

This is a new beginning for Gwen and she is extremely excited about her new start.
