She just signed an apartment lease, and is so happy because she has never had a place of her own. Audrey grew up in and out of foster care, and only has a 6th grade education. She has enrolled in GED classes because she realizes how important it is in finding a job. For now her home is empty; she is requesting assistance with bedding for her children and basic home furnishings.

Tamara, a single mother of two teenage children, has a serious health condition that worsens in winter months because of the cold weather. Amir and his young family just arrived to the United States from Afghanistan. They are Special Immigrant Visa holders, meaning Amir is being offered safety and a new life in the U.S. for his services and dedication to the U.S. and our allies in Afghanistan. When U.S. troops left, those Afghan citizens who provided interpretation, security, and other services to the U.S. were targeted by the Taliban. Like all refugees, Amir and his family have an immense number of appointments upon arrival. They cannot travel to these appointments until they have a safety car seat for their toddler. Your donation will jump start this family's new life in Richmond.

Keiondra has an opportunity to move her family into more stable housing but has been confronted with an old utility bill that was left over from a previous address that she was no longer aware existed. She has done all the work to qualify for this new apartment and is being stalled by this bill. Assistance with this could mean the difference between her moving her children to a safer neighborhood in the near future or having to postpone this goal for several months and or missing this particular opportunity altogether depending on the availability of units in the neighborhood she is pursuing.

Yolanda arrived to the United States from El Salvador in September with her aunt and uncle, and seven months pregnant. She is due any day now. The IRC in Richmond Employment team found Yolanda's aunt and uncle jobs quickly, and things are going well. Yolanda will also get a job after the baby is born, but for now, the expense of all that is needed to add a newborn to the household feels overwhelming. Your donation will help Yolanda have some basic supplies ready when she and her newborn arrive home from the hospital.

Kesara is a minor from Honduras, a survivor of trafficking being served by IRC in Richmond's TVAP grant (Trafficking Victims Assistance Program). She is due to have a baby boy in the beginning of January. Enrolled full-time in high school and taking English classes with dreams of getting her license in cosmetology, Kesara could use assistance getting all of the supplies needed to get the apartment ready to bring her baby boy home from the hospital. Your donation can help Kesara stay in school to finish her education while adjusting to a new life in the U.S.

He is not giving up and is out every day searching for work. He is asking for assistance with boots, socks, bedding, and winter clothes.

A single mother of four, Frida and her children were housed 10 months ago after experiencing homelessness, and she continues to make great strides. She was working full time and on the verge of meeting her housing costs when COVID-19 spiked again. Her hours were cut from 40 hours to 20 hours per week. She is still positive, but nervous about her housing costs. She is asking for warm clothing for her children so she can put her income toward rent.

Until recently, Ayanna and her five boys were homeless. Ayanna just secured a job as a Certified Nursing Assistant, but needs to obtain certifications in CPR and Meds before she can be put on the schedule. Since she has not yet received a paycheck, she and her children, ages 1 to 15, are in need of warm bedding and items such as blankets, sheets, comforters, pillows, towels and washcloths, as well as socks and shoes for the boys.
