The International Rescue Committee in Richmond Employment Specialist secured her a position at Tyson Foods that requires steel-toed boots. Can you help her get them in time to start her first job in the U.S?

Since April, Zsa Zsa has been on furlough from her job due to COVID-19. She's been doing her best to make ends meet, as so many folks are, with unemployment benefits. But she recently had an issue with her HVAC unit -- not only did she have to find the funds to repair it, but the issue caused her electricity bill to almost triple. Zsa Zsa's seeking assistance to get the bill back to a manageable range now that the the unit has been repaired, so she doesn't fall further behind.

However, due to unfortunate circumstances, she also is in transition and spends evenings looking for housing after leaving work during the day. Tykira needs help paying for a room for one week until she can find a home to lease with her next paycheck.

When Robert starting having frequent coughing spells, his employer sent him home out of caution. Thankfully, Robert recovered, but just as he was well enough to return to work, his company temporarily closed due to COVID-19, leaving Robert without income and unable to pay all his bills. Robert's worked hard to secure employment and has thankfully started a new job at FedEx, but needs assistance making up for the gap.

Thankfully, Uvonya has secured employment as a Forklift Operator, but needs help reconciling a few of her accounts. She is requesting assistance with a portion of her electricity bill.

She has no immediate family that can support her. Emilia is requesting assistance with her electricity bill

Help with Laptop. Eric will begin CDL school at the Community College; however, he did not realize the 1st session is online due to COVID 19.before class on October 3, 2020. Eric must have a working computer that is WIFI accessible. At this time, he has reached out to everyone he knows for support. Eric is asking if a Giving Wall supporter would help him with obtaining a lab-top as he has been approved to begin his CDL Training classes very soon.

Help with Groceries. Tashanda is a single mom of one, but she also cares for her two small grandchildren. She lost her job as a production assembler when COVID-19 emerged last March. Tashanda began taking cosmetology classes at the Richmond Technical Center to start a new career, but classes have been canceled because of the social distancing requirement. Now Tashanda needs support with groceries as her three children will be home all day attending school virtually.

Help with Utility Bills. Destiny is a single mother doing her best to raise five children while in and out of the hospital for mental health. Hospitalizations and trouble finding a reliable babysitter to care for her children have made it difficult for her to maintain a steady income. Her youngest is about a year old. Destiny urgently needs help with her utility bills as she receives in-home counseling and stabilization services from St. Joseph’s Villa.

Help with Utilities. Shamari is enrolled in the Workforce Program at the Office of Community Wealth Building. She also has been taking classes at the Richmond Technical School. As a result of mandatory social distancing, her classes were canceled for the spring semester. A single mother, Shamari is having difficulty managing her household bills since she has to stay home with her children. She is requesting assistance with her gas bill until she can secure employment.
