Help with a Laptop. Sulaiman is a participant in the Office of Community Wealth Building, who has experienced a significant loss of income due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Like many of us, he has had to "pivot" and use video chatting platforms to interact with clients for work. However, Sulaiman does not own a computer, nor does he have the resources to acquire one. He is requesting assistance with a laptop computer to strengthen his communication at home.

Help with Tires. Peggy is out of work temporarily, due to the COVID -19. She is receiving compensation but her money is being used for food, and to pay other bills. Peggy cannot afford to purchase new or used tires that she needs to pass a Virginia State Inspection. She needs her inspection to operate her vehicle before she returns to work. Peggy is reaching out for assistance towards the purchase a tire for her vehicle.

Help with Groceries and Household Essentials. Tanna recently lost her job due to COVID 19. Out of her family of five, two were employed, now there is one working. Tanna is in the process of applying for unemployment benefits. However, in the meantime, her funds are running low, and food is scarce. Tanna needs food and simple household items like toiletries, masks, gloves, disinfectants, toilet paper, and paper towels. She wants to get items from the community, but without proper Protective Gear- it's not safe. Tanna is asking for support to help her family get through this time.

Help with household essentials and clothing. Amaya was recently housed after experiencing years of domestic violence and a period of homelessness. She has also been diagnosed with a significant medical condition that prevents her from lifting 10 lbs or more. She is currently looking for a job that requires limited physical work. In the meantime, support with clothing and household essentials such as bedding, kitchenware and cleaning supplies will help Amaya maintain safe and stable housing.

Help with Groceries and Hygiene Products. Isabella is a fully devoted mother taking care of four children – one who has severe autism, and one who is just turning two years old. She has very limited English language skills and does not currently work. Her two older children are still school age and do their best to help out where they can. Support with groceries and personal hygiene products (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, dish and laundry detergent) would make it possible for Isabella to afford other urgent needs for her family, including pest extermination services, and maintain a healthy home environment.

He was in the process of securing a worker’s permit and job before COVID-19, hoping to support his family and gain skills for success in the future. The current pandemic has restricted Liam’s opportunities for employment. Assistance with food and clothing will help his family through these difficult times as he continues his job search.

Help with Laptop. Steven is a participant in the Office of Community Wealth Building's workforce program. He is an adult tutor who normally gives in-person instruction to students. Since this period of social distancing, Steven has found it challenging to instruct his students as he does not have a computer at home. He is asking for assistance with a laptop, so he can continue to make a living as a tutor.

Help with Utility Bill. Stanley is a senior enrolled in the Office of Community's Wealth Building workforce program. He has experienced a reduction in work hours as a result of social distancing. Many companies had suspended account payments from March - April. However, Stanley's bill will be due in a few weeks. He is asking for assistance with money toward his Dominion Power Bill. Stanley will be able to cover the remainder of the balance with his income

Help with Auto Insurance. Kymberly is a participant in the Office of Community Wealth's Building Workforce Development Program. She will start an online Real Estate course very soon so she can become a licensed real estate agent in Virginia. Currently, Kymberly is not employed and is the sole caregiver for her mother. She has fallen behind on some of her bills. Kymberly is asking for assistance with her auto insurance bill that is due in ten days on May 15.

Help with Groceries. Michael is a returning citizen. He also is a participant in the City of Richmond's Workforce Development program. Michael found it challenging to secure employment before the COVID-9 crisis. Now, it is even more difficult for him to land a new job. Michael is asking for assistance with groceries during this time.

He lives on a fixed income and has not been able to secure employment lately. A little help with groceries would help Calvin in a big way until he can work again.

Help with Electricity Bill. Dominica is a participant in the Office of Community Wealth Building's Workforce Development program. She recently lost her job in March. At this time, she has no income until she receives her unemployment benefit. Dominica is asking for help toward her electric bill of $376.76. She will pay the remainder of the balance with the money she receives from unemployment.

Help with Groceries. Andrew is a warehouse worker who was laid-off of his job in Jan 2020. He finds the job search process challenging during this time of he finds it difficult to obtain employment during this period of social distancing. Andrew is receiving unemployment benefits. However, with around $250 a week, it is difficult to cover all of his bills: rent, electricity, groceries, among other responsibilities. Andrew is asking for help with groceries as he continues to look for work.

Nejshaun is asking for assistance with food to help her small family get through this challenging time.
