Meet Shawneice, an incredibly resilient mom of 3 who is rebuilding her life after a devastating home fire. Due to a flood after the fire, her home was left uninhabitable due to dangerous black mold growth. She and her children had to leave behind *everything* to somehow find a new home and rebuild from scratch. Shortly after, Shawneice and her children also experienced being rear-ended and that totaled her car. As you can imagine, it's been a really rough time. However, can you believe that Shawneice is in a new home and has a new car!? Right now, she needs to secure 3 beds for her children's new rooms. Although it was very hard for Shawneice to seek support, we want to show her the power of self-advocacy and community. Your kindness would mean the world to this family and also restore their hope to continue moving forward in life.

Lilian is a survivor of domestic violence who was able to get out of her situation with the help of Safe Harbor. During her time at Safe Harbor, her abuser continually stalked and harassed her, eventually finding her and almost killing her. Following multiple surgeries, physical therapy, and support from her family, Safe Harbor and other domestic violence organizations, she has been able to get back on her feet. Lilian is a fighter. She is resourceful and gregarious in the face of all the challenges she has experienced at the hands of her abuser. Lilian needs a financial boost to help cover moving expenses in order to live independently. Your support of $500 will help Lilian move onto the next chapter of her life.

Donnaven is a young man who has recently been referred to Caritas men's shelter after being released from jail. Shelter staff soon realized that Donnaven was going in and out of the shelter without a winter coat. Donnaven has been wearing three sweaters at one time to stay warm. Donnaven states that he felt too ashamed to asked for help with a coat. When Donnaven learned about the services provided by The Giving Wall, he agreed to complete an application. Donnaven would like a winter coat size 2X. He would also like a pair of size 12 steel toe work boots. He is currently going on interviews to find a job in a warehouse setting. Having appropriate clothing for interviews can really boost Donnaven's confidence, and with his determination to get back on his feet, he feels these items might make a big difference in securing a job. It’s encouraging to see he’s motivated to start working immediately and seems focused on his goal of getting into a warehouse position

Dorothy, 70, is overcoming incredible challenges after experiencing homelessness for a year. Now housed, she continues to struggle with severe arthritis that makes walking or standing nearly impossible. She currently uses a rollator and often needs others to help pull her around. A motorized scooter would be life-changing for Dorothy, giving her the mobility to grocery shop and navigate public transportation on her own. Your support would make a lasting impact in her journey toward independence!

Ms. Hayden a mother of two boys who can often be found out delivering some kind of service to her community. While out delivering holiday meals to neighbors in need Ms. Hayden experienced trouble with her vehicle brake system. During the winter brake and absent of her vehicle you could still find the trio out providing service to those in need. Now that school is back in session this family really could use support to have their transportation serviced and back on the road.

While pursuing her next degree the decision was made to transition from full-time 3rd grade teacher to part-time in order to be a full-time mom and student herself. The choice caused a gap in pay and in payments. Ms. Hill has been able to keep up with their monthly bills by cutting back on many things and teaching her children to prioritize needs. This family is working hard to avoid disconnection of their electricity while also working on a family plan to enter the new year not behind on last year obligations.

Alison's son, who is currently receiving in-home intensive counseling services, depends on a stable environment for his progress. Unfortunately, their electricity has been disconnected due to financial struggles from inconsistent income. Without power, daily life becomes much more difficult for Alison's family and also poses obstacles to her son's development. Alison would be deeply grateful for assistance with her utility bill during this difficult time, so that she and her son can continue working toward a brighter future.

Ms. McCowan and the two children under her care are facing eviction of the remaining portion of her rent is unpaid by December 3, 2024.

Meet Anna. She is one tough, hardworking mama of 2 who has been holding the fort down since her separation. After a fun night of trick-or-treating with her children, her car broke down. She learned that the car needed a new engine that she can't afford out of pocket. She's currently figuring out how to purchase a new (used) car with her current budget, however, energy bills also began to pile up during this time. Her disconnection is set to happen on Dec 9th. It can be hard for single moms to ask for help; let's celebrate that Anna bravely decided to do so and show her the power of community! If we can support her, her family won't have to be without electricity for the holidays. They will have each other and a warm, bright home with full of memories!

While washing dishes following a family style breakfast for his 4 grandchildren. Jessie noticed water backing up in the sink. Being a retired city maintenance worker Jessie is usually able to quickly identify and resolve issues. This was no different from any other time however upon a deep inspection Jessie fear was confirmed. The pipes are all corroded, and mold is present. This will not be a quick plug and go job. Jessie is in need of vital tools and material such a saw blades, pcv pipes, wood, glue, and paint to repair his sink, cabinets and flooring. Your support will assist Jessie with not only bringing the kitchen back to a healthy place but most importantly restoring the center of a home where the sharing of warm loving meals take place.
