Since coming here she's been diligently working on her job search and has located a part time job, and is currently looking for a second job. As she prepares to start work, she's looking for assistance with a gift card to get gas for work. She currently has access to a vehicle that she shares with her mom, but she does not have the finances needed to fill up the gas tank. Your assistance will help her get back and forth to work until she gets her first paycheck.

Maeve received help with household necessities

Maeve has been staying at CARITAS Women's Emergency Shelter on and off for the past year. She has struggled with maintaining employment and qualifying for housing due to criminal history. While working with CARITAS, Maeve was able to get assistance applying for a housing voucher. She recently was awarded her voucher and has had much better success applying for units with the assistance of her voucher. This week she was approved for a one bedroom apartment of her own! As she prepares to move in at the end of this month, she has been saving for the move in costs and expenses that come with renting a place of her own. Your assistance will support us in allowing her to receive all of the household essentials that are required for moving into a new place, and things such as shower curtains, blankets, and a mattress.

Jay is a hard-working senior in high school who's experienced housing insecurity throughout his life, that's led him to move from one home to another. This has made it difficult to find stability at school, home, and work. When Jay turned 18 in June 2022, his parents told him he'd be responsible for paying all school fees. But he recently had to leave his job at a restaurant after another move. Although he's currently seeking employment, he doesn't have the money to pay for his 3-credit course fee in Auto Body I; which he needs in order to graduate.

While here, she's been working on getting approved for an apartment and saving for her move in fees. However, Alina recently lost her job and while looking new employment, her storage unit bill is coming due. Your assistance will allow her to pay this bill and keep her belongings. If she's not able to pay it, she will lose the storage unit and her items will be put up for auction.

Leila has been staying at CARITAS Women's Emergency Shelter since the end of March. Soon after arriving here, her vehicle broke down, requiring $4,000 in repairs to get it back in working order. We were able to partner with another community agency to get the repairs down to $2,000 and get additional support from our agency and theirs to help towards her repairs. Your assistance will close the gap between the funds that we have raised and what is needed to be able to get her repairs completed and get her back on the road!

The Survivor, Ellis, is currently in a Residential Program, working on gaining independence and employment. Due to ongoing traumatic experiences that led to her entering the program, she has ongoing court fees. Due to the nature of the program and sudden notice of payment plan details, she may not be able to gain employment by the first payment date, May 29th. This barrier has been discouraging for the client over the past few weeks, and this assistance could give significant relief to her as she continues to secure employment.

Maurice received paying for his security deposit.

Maurice and his six year have been forced to move from their apartment and are currently staying in a hotel. Maurice works full time and has been approved for a new apartment but has been having trouble gathering the first month rent and deposit while maintaining the price of the nightly stay at the hotel. Help with this will prevent he and his son from having to stay in a shelter during the interim.
