Charles is on fixed social security income. His medication does not allow him to work right now and Covid has made it difficult for his wife to work. He has tried to receive additional government assistance but has fallen through the cracks. Charles and wife are senior citizens and are doing the best they can ti survive these difficult times. They have fallen behind on their utility bills and need assistance to catch up while they work through the red tape updating their benefit status.

14 years old, Adeline just gave preterm birth to a baby girl. She planned to give her baby up for adoption, but could not go through with it. Her mother is helping as much as she can, but is in recovery from substance use disorder and barely able to make ends meet for Adeline and her four other children. Adeline did not have a baby shower and is in dire need of baby supplies. Assistance with bottles, clothes, blankets, diapers and a bassinet would mean so much to her family.

Tony is experiencing homelessness and also struggles with her mental health. She lives in the county and cannot easily access the Inclement Weather Shelter. Tony is working with CCC staff on a permanent housing solution but with the expected snow and below freezing temperatures she needs a warm, dry place to stay for a few days.

Jolinda is a single mother of two. She is legally blind and relies heavily on disability benefits to make ends meet. She was working full time before her place of employment shut down due to Covid. She was recently forced to move out of her home when her landlord sold the house she was renting. She has secured new housing but the cost of the move and security deposit has made it difficult to pay her rent this month. Assistance covering her January rent will get her back on track while she waits for her job to call her back to work.

Tamika picks up deliveries to make ends meet, but due to her current situation with contracting COVID, she has had to isolate herself and can’t work. This has caused a large gap in her income for this month. She has fallen behind on her car insurance. She needs assistance to catch up so that she is able to drive legally as she returns to work.

Anissa has sole custody of her three small children after overcoming a domestic violence situation. She is working and starting to create a stronger support system and rebuild. She has been unable find full time work and is making ends by driving for uber while her children are in school. Assistance paying this remaining balance toward her rent will provide some much needed breathing room for her as she works to resettle their lives in their new environment.

Darren is a disabled vet who has been out of work for a close to a year. He was laid off because of Covid and has been living on fixed income ever since. He is currently staying in a hotel and trying to keep up the weekly payments while he looks for a new job. He has had several interviews over the past few weeks and feels optimistic that he will land a job very soon. He needs assistance covering his hotel stay in the meantime so that he can stay on track toward his goals.

Help with Needs for Infant. Israel is an enrolled participant in OCWB's workforce program. He is also in an Electrical Apprentice program where he cannot work full time while he is training. Israel pays $86.00 for two cans of specialty baby formula his son needs per week. His family needs help with this cost until he can secure full-time employment very soon.
