He has been working on and off but in order to fully return to the security world he will need to complete a security clearance in order to fully accept a position with a new company. She is currently seeking employment but is struggling with following up on job opportunities as her phone service is cut off. Beth currently owes for a little over two months of payments before she can get her phone cut back on. Your support will allow her to reinstate her service and will allow her an easier time with getting into contact with jobs and potential landlords.

Amari received assistance with childcare

Amari is a single father of a 1-year old and shares custody with his son’s mother. However, the mother has not communicated with Amari or picked up their son in over 3 months, which led to him losing his two jobs in order to care for their child. The lease on Amari’s residence also expired, and with no source of income at the time he was unable to renew it. Amari and his son have been living in a hotel for the last 2 weeks. He recently found employment, but would be grateful assistance with childcare as he works with St. Joseph’s Villa to find a safe and stable place for them to call home.

Stafford received Work boots!

Stafford has been working hard since he has come to our emergency shelter & recently has changed into a field of work where he is in need of steel toed work boots! With this change in work he has been able to use the boots he had previously but is required by his new employer to have steel toed boots to continue working. This would allow further movement towards financial & housing stability!

Brian came to our emergency shelter going into the same temporary employment agency each morning with an arrival time of 5:45am to secure day to day work. He thought that this was the only employment he could seek because of his criminal history until working with our shelter's case manager! About a week ago Brian secured full time employment that requires new work boots & work pants to ensure he is showing up as the best version of himself each day he clocks in.

Since her arrival, she's been working consistently and has been able to apply for and be approved for housing. Her new place is not furnished, and Jenna does not have any of the furniture she needs. CARITAS has been able to assist her with a referral for furniture, but that won't be available for the next few weeks. Jenna is in need of an air mattress and pillow so that she won't have to sleep on the ground while she waits for her furniture to be delivered. Your assistance would provide this to her and help ease her transition into housing.

Sadie came to stay at CARITAS Women's Emergency Shelter at the beginning of this week. She came to us behind on several bills and struggling to keep up with what she owes. Sadie has a cell phone bill due on the 14th that she's concerned about, because she doesn't have the funds to pay this bill. Sadie has a lot of physical and mental health concerns and she relies heavily on her phone for tracking appointments, attending meeting with her psychiatrist via zoom, and communicating with her doctors. Your support will allow her to stay caught up with her phone bill and avoid her service lapsing.

Survivor received transportation support

The survivor has been living in a transitional program for quite some time. The survivor is getting ready to exit the program and be on her own. Her car was in bad shape until it broke down and then someone stole another part off of it. Continued mental and physical health struggles have made it difficult for the survivor to work and impossible for her to save the to have her car repaired. A local nonprofit, Mechanics of Faith, was able to offer her car repairs for a fee. This financial support will allow the survivor to pay the fee for the car repairs and have reliable transportation to move out of the transitional program and work towards independence and stability!
