She is trying to stay focused and committed, but every time one door closes another setback occurs. Lynette asking for support with her electric bill; she has a disconnect notice for March 2, 2020. Lynnette has reached out and made a payment arrangement where she can pay $210 by March 2, 2020, and the balance will be extended out for six months.

Quay is single mom of a 1-year old baby girl who just started employment with the City of Richmond, she was recently appointed an ambassador with the Office of Community Wealth Building. She does not own a vehicle and is finding it a challenge to pay for transportation. Quay is saving to purchase a car so that she can maintain employment. In the meantime, she needs assistance until she receives her first paycheck.

Karen's employment just ended three weeks ago and she began her new job recently. In the meantime, Karen needs assistance with paying her utility bill to prevent disconnection until she receives her first paycheck.

Help with Groceries. Keith is a trained Sous Chef who has just experienced a short-time of unemployment. Recently, he has secured a great opportunity leading the kitchen staff at a local Richmond non-profit and is able to meet of all his financial obligations, but needs help purchasing groceries until he obtains his first paycheck.

Help with Driver's License. Tomorrow is a single mom who has just secured a job as an assistant manager for a local restaurant in the City of Richmond. She also has obtained a vehicle as her new job is not on the bus line. Now, Tomorrow needs help to initiate a payment plan, so she can get her driver's license reinstated, so she can continue working.

Help with Utilities. Sandra lost her job at the end of 2019. While she has been actively seeking full-time employment, the process has been going slow and unfortunately, Sandra has fallen behind in her payments. Sandra just received a new offer of a part-time job this week, which would allow her to catch up on a few bills. The Utilities are essentials: heat, water, and gas. The balance for December and January is $689.22, but $239.00 will allow for a monthly payment plan. Sandra will be able to pay the remainder of the balance.

Help with Exam Fees. Joseph is a returning citizen who had recently secured full-time employment, but does not make enough to make ends meet. His dream job is to become a personal trainer for a gym where he will help others meet their fitness goals. The only thing Joseph needs is to pass his training certification exam on March 31 to onboard as a trainer. This type of help will be life-changing for Joseph.

Help with Breastfeeding Pump. Shannithia is struggling with feeding her child because she broke her breastfeeding pump during the process of moving to a new residence. Therefore, she cannot leave her child for long periods--even for work. It is becoming a barrier to employment. At this time, she needs support to purchase a new feeding pump for her child.

"Help with Driver’s Education. Paula is a single mom who is in the process of searching for employment. She has been enrolled in a workforce training program and desires better wages but is not able to interview for this higher-paying jobs because transportation is a barrier. Paula wants to obtain a driver's license to obtain better employment.

Help with a Gas Card. Kim is enrolled in Medical Terminology Course at CCWA currently and needs gas support so she can get back and forth to school until she secures employment. The class is for 6 weeks. At this time she is requesting $125 gas card to help with the cost of transportation.

Help with a Laptop. Shannon is excited about attending the medical coding class. She is employed, but not earning enough to sustain or afford even a used laptop or computer study. The course is intense and studying is required. Shannon has to computer her work at home because her work hours are the same as library hours. At this time she is asking for help with a laptop to ensure success in her medical coding class.

Help with Dental Training Course. Mackenzie was offered a job in a dental office but can not accept it until she completes her Dental Radiation Course. She is very excited to be starting a career in a new field. This type of assistance will help her secure employment.

Help with Rent Assistance. Fred January lost his job a few months ago and fell behind in his rent. Since then, he has secured employment, but needs help reconciling the past due balance of $200.00 on his account. This type of assistance will allow Fred to keep is apartment.

Help with Electric Bill. Robert is enrolled in a Workforce Training Program. He completed his CDL training recently, but was injured badly and is going through rehabilitation. Robert received a disconnect notice for his electricity bill. He needs help paying his past due balance until he is out of rehabilitation and can secure employment with his CDL license.

Help with Shaun Barnes. Shaun lost her job recently and is now in transition. She recently secured employment and has secured a place to stay. She is in need of a mattress. This type of assistance will help her Shaun tremendously.

She works part-time and is waiting to receive more hours in a few months. When she lost her job in July, she incurred debt that she has been paying down. Margaret needs help with groceries until she receives her full-time assignment.

Help with Car Loan. Tashanda needs immediate assistance with paying for a car loan. She lost her job and fell a little behind. During her period of unemployment, second-hand jobs helped her to provide for her family. Although she now found employment as a driver for Richmond Public Schools, she is still in need of bringing her bills current.

Help to Recover from House Fire. On December 5 a fire damaged James’ apartment. The American Red Cross has provided shelter for a few days put me up for several days while his home is being repaired. The smoke damage destroyed all of his food, cleaning supplies, and left his clothing filled with smoke. He is asking for support for $210 to replace these items.

Help with House Repair. Ellarine is enrolled in a workforce training program. She left her job to take care of her mother full time. Although she receives some income, she does not bring in enough to cover unexpected expenses. Right now, she has a small hole in the ceiling of her home that needs repair. The total cost is $280, but she is requesting help in the amount of $250.00 for this house repair. A family friend has committed to help with the remaining balance.
