Since working, he has signed up for OSHA/Forklift training through 5C's and is now in the process of getting enrolled in a Construction Training program. Ronald has transportation, however without employment he cannot afford the cost of fuel. Assisting him with fuel for transportation will allow him to continue with his training.

James’ journey toward progress has been so inspirational to many of his peers. He started as a volunteer with the city and eventually was hired as an Ambassador to engage the community around issues of employment and poverty. This type of assistance will help James with his presentation as he is invited to public speaking engagements around Richmond to represent his office in the upcoming weeks.

Help with DMV Fines. Timothy is a military veteran needs help paying for fines to get his driver’s reinstated. His driver's license was taken after purchasing a car from a previous owner-the car turned out to be a lemon. Upon return of the car, the previous owner agreed to return the car's title and license plates to DMV—but failed to do so. While driving the company car one day, Mr. Barge was stopped by a police and realized his license been suspended due to un-returned license plates. As a result, Timothy lost his job. This type of assistance will help Timothy get his license reinstated and restore his mobility so he can increase his income by applying for better paying jobs.

Help with Water Bill. Antwanette needs help to prevent her water from being disconnected. Although she found employment, she fell behind on her utility bill because she was out of work for 8 weeks. Antwanette lost her job because she had to assume responsibility for her brother and sisters. She had to go into foster care and wanted to prevent them from going into the system. Her father is incarcerated and her mother faces barriers that prevents her from being present for Antwanette and her younger siblings. This type of assistance will help alleviate stress associated with being the primary caregiver in her family. Antwanette will enroll in the CNA training program in June to become a Certified Nursing Aide in the near future.

Help with Storage Fees. Ms. Miller was in a serious car accident, and was admitted into a rehabilitation center, which caused her to lose her job and eventually her apartment. Michelle has to put her personal items in storage. She went through physical therapy but wasn't able to go back to work for her previous employer due to her physical injuries. Michelle signed up with AARP Employment Services and will be able to maintain her storage fees now that she is working. However, Michelle still needs assistance paying her storage account, so she does not lose all her personal belongings. The current amount for her storage bill is $351.80 which includes a past due amount and the new monthly balance. Michelle is requesting $250.00 in assistance pay her storage bill. Michelle is getting help from family and friends to pay her account in the upcoming months until she moves back into another place of her own.
