Help with Electricity. Wanda is the caregiver for her brother, who needs intensive medical care around the clock. Wanda would never have imagined that her utility bill would be so high. The machine battery has to be charged 24/7. Wanda is paying something towards her account monthly and waiting on additional support from family members and the government. She is asking for help to satisfy her payment plan, which is falling behind, and she does not want to forfeit her payment plan.

Christel fled to Richmond recently from North Carolina to escape a domestic violence situation that was causing tremendous danger to her and her 3 young boys. She has recently secured a part time job and apartment and is working to get her family settled into their new environment. The cost of moving her and securing the new apartment has made it extremely difficult for her to provide what her children need to get started at their new schools. Support for this need will make all the difference for her sons as they adjust to their new surroundings.

Jessica and her 3 young children have just experienced a traumatic event that resulted in the death of her youngest child and forced her to abruptly leave her home. She is working with community partners to gain access counseling family and help support her move into her new home. Help with this purchase will allow her to focus on pressing issues as she works to regain some sense of stability in the very tough season.

Help with Laptop. Harvey is enrolled in the Dream Academy for basic computer skills. He is also in search of employment as a driver or warehouse specialist. Harvey will re-enroll in school to sharpen his skills and needs a laptop to finish his program. This type of help will ensure Harvey is more marketable during his job search process.

Help with Work Clothing and Gas Card. Mecca, has been impacted by covid in so many ways; She is the mother of 5 children, of which one needs special attention. She is a traveling Med-tech with plenty of potentials. However, with the kids home, she had to turn down many job opportunities because of child care. Her oldest is off to college. Therefore, she has no support, but there is some relief coming with the opening of the school; all of her children are now enrolled in school, Mecca was able to pick up a job, but she needs help with uniforms and supplies. Mecca is humble and grateful for your support. At this time, she needs uniforms, a watch, nursing shoes, a mask, a blood pressure cup, a stethoscope, and a gas card.

Help with Car Note. Chimika is a full-time nursing student and a single mom of three. She and her children all contracted COVID and are quarantining at home. Chimika cannot work or attend school and is experiencing some hardship with keeping up with her bills. She needs help paying her car note by August 21st.

He is a Lyft Driver and needs to make full payment very soon so he can keep driving. If the Giving Wall assists with this cost, his grandmother will pay the balance. He has been a Lyft Driver for two years and this support will help him continue to work as a driver.

Jevar is a youth experiencing homelessness. He is working with CCC's Youth Hub to find employment and trying to get into an emergency shelter and then into long-term housing. Jevar does not have a phone which makes it difficult for him to complete applications for employment. He is in need of a prepaid cell phone.
